My Colorado Adventure: Vol II

So much for the daily blog posts. Sorry friends. My days are generally filled with activities so I don't get a chance to blog. Did you miss it?! :D

Umm so in the last week I have gone to the pool,

 lightened my hair
gone laser tagging,
had a "girls' night out" where we actually stayed in and did really wild things like demonstrating our boot-popping abilities,

playing cards
and Twilight Scene It.
Yeah, we're party animals. And?
I am spending my second week here with my Ashley
and since being here I have had an enormously productive day at the gym, spent a ridiculous amount of money, bought a training swimsuit and couldn't resist buying certain not-completely-necessary articles of running attire,
seen the new Transformers movie and various other cinematic not-quite-masterpieces, and gone on several discouraging runs, seeing as how the hills here are unavoidable and completely make me feel like dying by mile 3 as opposed to my usual mile 7.

Anyway, that's the cliff-notes version of my life currently. Bingbangboom.

My Colorado Adventure: Vol I

I'll be in Colorado for the next three weeks visiting some of my favorite people on this planet. I figured the best way to record my memories would be to add them to my blog. Sure it'll mean an almost daily post, but my life is so interesting to read about that I'm sure nobody minds. That being said, let's talk about my first day back in this fantastic place.

After 4 hours of sleep due to my procrastination and disorganization of packing (see the following picture taken during the unpacking from college/sorting/packing for colorado process), I was awaken by my parents and driven by my father to catch my 6 a.m. flight.
My flight was delayed 30 minutes so that they could change one of the tires and add gas. But I didn't really mind. I was in a really calm mood yesterday. It was just as well, because Shmam and Karen slept an hour too long, so when they got there to pick me up, the timing was basically perfect.

We all went to Starbucks and then to Karen's grandma's house to chat and have some good times.

After dropping Shmam off to get ready for a dentist appointment, Karen and I went to Famous Footwear to get her some shoes for her new job at Victoria's Secret (uh yeah, I will be reaping the benefits of that) and I got some new Keds. And then Karen accidentally misplaced her car keys. In Famous Footwear. Which was pretty unfortunate because it resulted in a two-hour plus search party. But we managed to make memories which is the reeaal important thing.
My friends kindly threw me a welcome home party after that, documented by the following pictures:
Notice my Keds.
Classic gangsta faces
Reunited with my favorite new mommy!!!!
My neice slash my new best friend slash the most beautiful baby in the world!!

And that was a great way to kick off my summer vacation.

Memoirs of a whitey.

My long hours of pruning in the sun wearing t-shirts, gardening gloves, and jeans every day left a fantastic variance in skin tone between my arms and all my other body parts.
Before this morning, that was my arm compared to my leg.
Those of you who know me are familiar with the drastic measures I'm willing to take to not look quite so albino. Today was my first attempt of the year at establishing some homogenity in my skin color. Here's the result of 2 1/2 hours in the sunshine:
Ironically, you could say this method was counterproductive, as I now have to grapple with having 3 different shades of pale (blindingly pale, dark pale, and burnt pale) instead of 2. The point is, I'll be keeping my pants-wearing to a minimum for the next coupla days.

What would you do...

to justify putting off studying?

Eat 1/2 a batch of cookie dough? While watching old episodes of Modern Family? Check, check.
Update your ipod? Check.
Run 7.3 miles, thus subjecting yourself to moderate chafing and considerable blistering of the feet? Check.
Do laundry? Check.
Write a blog entry that nobody is gonna read?

..Check.
